Version 1.2
Version 1.2 has the following enhancements :
- Reduce utility
- remove of the fast option. Option was considered to be a major performance improver
- Defragmentation utility
- added options to place command. Command will now visualise how badly your files and filesystems are fragmented. A fragmentation index will be calculated.
- defragmentation algorithm has been modified to improve overall filesystem access. Benchmarks have shown up to 20% filesystem access improvements.
- Analyse utility
- It is now also possible to scan the full filesystem for indirect blocks of deleted files. Very usefull in case the inode of the deleted file has been reused for another file.
- You can now also recover partial files. By specifying a valid percentage, you can select also files for which not all data-pointers are considered valid.
- Overall improvements
- smaller executables
- better handling of paging space low conditions. When a paging space low condition is encountered, the executing program disclaim immediately unnecessary memory and performs a gracefull stop. In order to avoid another paging space low condition, you should add additional paging space.
- adjust limit resources when possible : default limit resources are sometimes not enough for executing the utilities on large filesystems. Utilities will try modifying the default resource settings in case a limit is encountered. This is only possible when the software is executed with root authority.
